Nestled  in the Southern  hills of  West Virginia, the Rockcastle Baptist Association  was formed on July 16, 1906 at the Rockcastle Convention with W. H. H. Cook serving as Moderator but held it’s first two day Annual Meeting on October  7 and 8, 1903 with W.H.H. Cook serving, also, as Moderator.  With it’s humble beginnings, churches in the area became members  for the purpose of promoting Sisterly love and harmony among churches with similar beliefs and teachings.

    The objective of the Rockcastle Baptist Association is to advance the spiritual life , to promote harmony, and increase the efficiency of our  Sister churches in advancing the Kingdom of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  As an Association we serve to assist our Sister churches as an advisory committee and cannot interfere with the churches by-laws, doctrine and beliefs. 
 
    We believe that there is one God, one Son and one Holy Spirit. We do not believe that there many ways to  God except through his Son, Jesus Christ . We preach the blood  and no one can be saved except they repent and their sins be covered by the blood.  Sin is sin and cannot be justified by any means.  We are all sinners saved by Grace and God’s Grace is sufficient for all sins, but we must be born again and covered by the blood to enter into the joys of heaven. 

    God is not out of date and we do not  endeavor to analyze  God and find out what HE did wrong but to accept the Bible as God’s word, as a road map to guide and direct our paths until we win the race. As the old time preacher said, “I believe the Bible from cover to cover, and by the way, I believe the cover too.”

    Beginning in Genesis, We believe the creation of the Almighty God is TRUE, the Virgin birth of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ is TRUE, and His death, burial and resurrection  is TRUE. We preach Heaven is REAL and Hell is REAL and hot  to be shunned by all man-kind.

    Today our Association has 22 member churches from Wyoming,  McDowell and Logan counties. Our member churches are: Baileysville Baptist, Bellemeade Baptist, Big Cub Missionary Baptist, Black Eagle Baptist, Cook Memorial Baptist, Cooper Memorial Baptist, Crany Missionary Baptist, Curtis Baptist, Cyclone Missionary Baptist, Emmanuel Baptist of War, Guyandotte Missionary Baptist, Highland Avenue Baptist, Lacoma Baptist, Oceana First Baptist, Panther Missionary Baptist, Rockcastle Baptist, Saulsville Baptist, Spruce Grove Missionary Baptist, Summit Baptist, Toneda Missionary Baptist, Turkey Creek Baptist and Welch First Baptist.
